Haven’s Crispy & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Indulge in the joy of baking with these delightful chocolate chip cookies that boast a soft, gooey centre and a perfectly crisp edge. At a lower temperature of 340°F, these cookies are designed to be slightly undercooked, creating a melt-in-your-mouth treat that will leave you craving more!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (1 stick)

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 cup chopped dark chocolate (or any chocolate of your choice)

  • Flaky sea salt for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 340°F (170°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.

  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

  4. Fold in Chocolate: Gently fold in the chopped chocolate until evenly distributed.

  5. Scoop and Bake: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centres appear undercooked.

  6. Garnish and Cool: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
